REFERENCE:
- The entirety of this collection references Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and a multitude of Russian artists to bring to life a specialized capsule with red being the main theme and inspiration point for a majority of the pieces. One of the major inspirations that spans across multiple collections is the jewelry of Vivienne Westwood, specfically the bat orb necklace and a multitude of the other orbs too, but that one holds a special place for me. A lot of the art I consume comes from places like Russia and Japan. What I've found is that the essence of the art holds a almost warm darkness that I try to encapsulate in every piece. Now for the biggest inspiration for this collection, Jean Paul Gaultier. An amazing designer with a major influence on how I approach the mesh long sleeves and the specific collection referenced is his Spring-Summer 2001 Ready-To-Wear collection. The entirety of this collection focuses on my obsession with darkwear and its aesthetics that span back decades, making the point of it to study the deeper history for the controversial pieces of art.
